A tragic incident occurred in Guraiyanapur village under the Sajeti police station area of Ghatampur, Kanpur, where a 21-year-old groom allegedly died by suicide just hours after bringing his bride home on Friday evening. The deceased, identified as Kamlesh Nishad, was employed in Surat, Gujarat, and had returned to his village a few days ago for his wedding.
Wedding Ceremony and Return
On May 14, the wedding procession traveled to Haretha village under the Korara police station area in Hamirpur district. After the wedding ceremonies concluded on Friday, the bride was given a traditional farewell, and the procession returned to Guraiyanpur village in the evening. Family members reported that everything seemed normal after they arrived home.
Sudden Disappearance
However, around 9 pm, Kamlesh suddenly left the house. When he did not return for an extended period, relatives and family members began searching for him. An extensive search was carried out throughout the night, but Kamlesh was not found.
Body Discovered
On Saturday morning, villagers spotted the body of a young man hanging from a tree. Family members reached the spot and identified the body as Kamlesh. Station in-charge Anuj Bharti stated, “The cause behind Kamlesh’s extreme step is yet to be ascertained. The body has been sent for postmortem.”
The incident has left the family and community in shock. The postmortem report is awaited to determine the exact cause of death. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
