The 65th anniversary of Goa's liberation was celebrated with patriotic fervor and a clarion call for national development in Margao on Friday. Public Works Department Minister Digambar Kamat, addressing the gathering, emphasized the twin visions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Pramod Sawant as the roadmap for India's and Goa's future.
A Vision for a Superpower Nation
After unfurling the national tricolor at the Matanhy Saldanha Administrative Complex, Minister Kamat outlined the path ahead. He stated that 'Viksit Bharat 2047' is the defining vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while 'Swayampurna Goem' (Self-Reliant Goa) represents the dream of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant. Kamat called upon citizens and officials to work in unison to transform these dreams into reality. He stressed that the collective aim should be to strive relentlessly towards establishing India as a global superpower.

The official function commenced with Minister Kamat being received by South Goa Collector Egna Cleetus and Superintendent of Police Tikam Singh Verma. In a display of ceremonial respect, the minister then took the guard of honour from a disciplined police contingent. The event was graced by the presence of MLA Alexio Reginaldo Lourenco, alongside other dignitaries and citizens.
