Fadnavis Promises Badlapur Metro Completion in 3.5 Years

Fadnavis Makes Major Metro Announcements in Badlapur Rally

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis launched a sharp attack on the previous Uddhav Thackeray-led state government during a high-energy campaign rally in Badlapur, accusing them of deliberately stalling the crucial Metro Line 14 project connecting Badlapur to Kanjurmarg. The rally, held ahead of the upcoming Badlapur and Ambernath municipal council elections, saw the CM making significant infrastructure promises to local residents.

Metro Projects Get Green Signal

Fadnavis revealed that tenders for Metro Line 14 will be floated soon, with a firm commitment to complete the project within 3.5 years. He emphasized that work on this vital connectivity project had resumed only after he returned to power, highlighting the contrast between his administration's approach and that of his predecessors.

In a major boost for commuters, the Chief Minister announced that Metro Line 5 will be extended beyond its current planned terminus at Ambernath's Chikhloli to reach Badlapur. This extension will provide thousands of daily travelers with significantly improved connectivity to the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.

Development Agenda Takes Center Stage

The CM appealed to voters to grant the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) a clear majority in the upcoming municipal elections, asserting that only an ideologically aligned administration could ensure smooth and corruption-free development. He warned that if other parties gain control of the council, funds sent by the state government for development projects might face misuse or irregularities.

Development money must reach the ground. For that, governance has to be in responsible hands, Fadnavis stated, making a direct pitch for the BJP-NCP (Ajit Pawar faction) alliance candidates.

Fadnavis highlighted that several key projects have already been completed in Badlapur through MMRDA, and promised to resolve the city's longstanding water shortage issues, noting that work on two dams is currently underway.

Commuters to Get Enhanced Travel Experience

In another significant announcement for daily commuters, Fadnavis revealed that Badlapur residents traveling to Mumbai will soon be able to use AC metro-style coaches in local trains, making long-distance travel safer and more comfortable.

The Chief Minister credited BJP MLA Kishan Kathore for reminding him about pending works, including water supply issues and the Metro project, after which the government took steps to revive these initiatives.

Present at the rally alongside CM Fadnavis were BJP MLA Kishan Kathore, Captain Ashish Damle, Chairman of Parshuram Economic Development Corporation, and MLA Kumar Ailani, demonstrating the party's collective strength in the region.

The Badlapur Municipal Council, once a BJP stronghold, has been under Shiv Sena's control in recent years, making these elections a critical contest in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region as the BJP deploys its full political strength to reclaim the area.
