AIADMK Leader EPS Launches Scathing Critique of DMK Government in Tamil Nadu

AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami escalated his political offensive against the ruling DMK government on Tuesday, delivering a sharp rebuke over alleged failures in maintaining law and order, alongside accusations of corruption and dynastic politics.

Campaign Rally in Sivakasi Highlights Women's Safety Concerns

While campaigning in Sivakasi, Palaniswami, commonly referred to as EPS, presented a white T-shirt gifted by a group of young girls. The garment bore handwritten messages reading, "Only AIADMK government can ensure women's safety" and "DMK should not return to power." EPS emphasized that even children are deeply worried about security issues, underscoring a pervasive sense of vulnerability.

"The concerns over safety have gripped our young girls, showing the urgent need for change," EPS stated, urging voters to support the AIADMK front to "guarantee safety for all."

Accusations of Drug Menace and Development Delays

EPS further accused the DMK administration of inadequate action against drug trafficking, pledging that an AIADMK government would eliminate ganja and other illegal substances within three months of taking office. He also highlighted stalled development projects, specifically targeting the DMK for obstructing the ₹14,000 crore Cauvery–Gundar river linking initiative.

"By stalling this crucial project, the DMK has demonstrated its opposition to farmers' interests," EPS declared, promising to revive the scheme to benefit districts like Virudhunagar, where he was campaigning.

Strategic Campaign Moves and Grassroots Organization

Later in Ramanathapuram district, EPS reiterated these themes, focusing on law and order, corruption, and developmental neglect. Concurrently, he announced the appointment of senior party officials as election in-charges for constituencies where AIADMK has nominated candidates.

This move signals a concerted effort to streamline campaign operations at the grassroots level as the election draws nearer, aiming to enhance organizational efficiency and voter outreach.

The intensified rhetoric from EPS reflects a broader strategy to position AIADMK as a viable alternative, capitalizing on public discontent over governance issues in Tamil Nadu.
