Delhi Student Arrested for Dragging Traffic Cop on Bonnet

A 20-year-old BBA student was arrested in Delhi for allegedly hitting and dragging a traffic police constable during a checking drive near Patiala House Court in central Delhi on Thursday evening. The incident occurred around 5 pm when three traffic personnel were conducting a routine drive near Tilak Marg Traffic Circle at Purana Qila Road.

Details of the Incident

According to police officials, a grey car with a defective registration number and tinted windows was signaled to stop. Instead of complying, the driver allegedly accelerated and struck the constable, who was thrown onto the bonnet of the vehicle. The car then continued moving towards Dr. Zakir Hussain Marg with the constable clinging to the bonnet before he eventually fell off.

Legal Action Taken

A senior police officer confirmed that an FIR was registered immediately after the incident. The accused, identified as Satyajit (20), a BBA student, was arrested and is currently in custody. Further investigations are underway to determine if the driver was under the influence of alcohol or any other substance.
