Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to Address Public Meeting in Adilabad District
Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy is scheduled to address a significant public meeting in Pippiri village, located within the Boath assembly constituency of Adilabad district, on Monday. This event commemorates the completion of three years since the historic people's march—a pada yatra spanning over 1,300 kilometers undertaken by then Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Bhatti Vikramarka ahead of the 2023 Telangana assembly elections.
Foundation Laying and Inauguration of Projects Worth ₹170 Crore
During the gathering, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate various development works with a total value of ₹170 crore. Additionally, he will distribute benefits from multiple government schemes to the local populace. These initiatives were originally promised by Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka during his extensive pada yatra across the region.
Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka is also expected to deliver a speech at the occasion. The program forms an integral part of the ongoing 99-day Praja Palana-Pragati Pranalika celebrations, which focus on governance and progress for the people.
Addressing Grievances and Implementing Promises
The pada yatra served as a crucial platform for residents, particularly farmers, to voice their concerns directly to Bhatti Vikramarka. Many highlighted issues stemming from the Dharani portal, where assigned land parcels were incorrectly categorized under restricted classifications. Such problems are now being systematically addressed through the newly enacted Bhu Bharati Act, which aims to restore and protect farmers' rights, Bhatti Vikramarka stated during a recent review meeting.
Throughout the yatra, citizens presented a wide array of grievances and demands. In response, Bhatti Vikramarka made several key commitments, including:
- Provision of housing under the Indiramma scheme
- Waiver of farm loans up to ₹2 lakh
- Subsidized gas cylinders for households
- Enhancement of the Aarogyasri health insurance limit
- Free bus travel for women in RTC buses
Most of these assurances are currently being implemented by the government, Bhatti Vikramarka confirmed. The pada yatra is widely credited with playing a pivotal role in the Congress party's electoral success in Telangana, with the party securing victory in 26 out of the 36 constituencies covered during the march, as noted by a senior Congress leader.
Accelerated Development and Tribal Welfare Initiatives
In terms of infrastructure, irrigation projects—especially canal works—have been expedited. Approvals are being processed for key projects such as Chikuman, Pulimadugu, and Kufti Triveni Sangamam to ensure timely completion and benefit to agricultural communities.
On the tribal welfare front, the Congress government has launched the Indira Soura Giri Jala Vikasam scheme to enhance irrigation facilities. Additionally, interest-free loans have been introduced to support self-employment opportunities for tribal women, according to official statements.
Action is also being taken on issues raised by the Mesram community during visits to the Keslapur Nagoba temple. There has been large-scale sanctioning of Indiramma houses, with particular emphasis on tribal and agency areas, and flexibility to accommodate excess applications.
Schedule and Distribution of Documents
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy will distribute documents related to the implementation of assurances made to various sections of society during Bhatti Vikramarka's pada yatra. As per the schedule, the CM will visit the Basara temple in the morning to offer prayers before proceeding to Pippiri for the afternoon public meeting.
