The Decca Herald-Prajavani Citizen Connect initiative has officially kicked off, drawing a significant number of suggestions from the public. The event aims to bridge the gap between citizens and administrative bodies, providing a platform for residents to voice their concerns and ideas.
Ground-Level Insights from Thanisandra
Srinivas Rao, a resident of Thanisandra, offered a detailed account of the challenges faced by his area. He pointed out that despite being among the 110 villages added to the erstwhile BBMP, administrative expansion has not adequately addressed local issues. Rao emphasized that basic amenities and infrastructure remain inadequate, and the promised development has not materialized.
Public Participation and Feedback
The event saw active participation from citizens across various wards. Suggestions ranged from improving waste management and road maintenance to enhancing water supply and public transport. Many residents expressed hope that their feedback would lead to tangible improvements.
Organizers noted that such initiatives are crucial for fostering transparency and accountability in governance. They plan to compile the suggestions and present them to relevant authorities for action.
The Citizen Connect drive is expected to continue in the coming weeks, with more sessions scheduled in different parts of the city.
