BJP's 90-Day Plan: Nitin Nabin Directs TN Cadre to Ramp Up Anti-DMK Campaign
BJP's 90-Day Ground Plan in Tamil Nadu Targets DMK

In a significant move to galvanize its cadre in Tamil Nadu, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) working president Nitin Nabin has issued a clear directive: intensify the opposition against the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) government by transforming everyday public grievances into a structured political campaign.

A 90-Day Groundwork Blueprint Against DMK

Addressing booth-level workers in Coimbatore during his two-day visit to the state, Nabin laid out an aggressive plan for the next three months. He emphasized that the period should be dedicated entirely to groundwork and organized action. The strategy involves identifying and amplifying local issues that affect citizens daily.

Nabin specifically pointed to problems like bad roads, shortage of drinking water, and the growing drug menace. He instructed party workers to channel public discontent over these governance failures into a potent tool for political mobilization. The aim is to systematically expose what the BJP terms as the administrative lapses of the DMK-led state government.

Women-Centric Campaigns and Grassroots Outreach

A key pillar of this renewed offensive will be crafting campaigns focused on women's welfare. Nabin asked workers to draft women-centric campaigns highlighting lack of safety and the proliferation of drugs. To execute this, he directed the shakti kendra pramukhs—leaders who supervise clusters of polling booths—to organize a series of activities.

These activities include:

  • Organizing protests and demonstrations.
  • Conducting signature drives to petition authorities.
  • Carrying out extensive door-to-door outreach programs.
The core message during these interactions will be to highlight crimes against women and hold the state administration accountable.

"We must work together with our NDA partners at the ground level to defeat DMK candidates," Nabin asserted, stressing the importance of coalition synergy. This meeting in Coimbatore was preceded by a BJP Tamil Nadu core committee meeting on Saturday, chaired by Nabin himself. The meeting, attended by state president Nainar Nagenthran and other senior leaders, focused on strengthening the party in the Kongu region, specifically in assembly segments like Singanallur, Coimbatore (North), and Kinathukadavu.

PM Modi to Launch NDA Campaign in Madurai

Adding momentum to the BJP's plans in the state, the party's general secretary, Rama Srinivasan, announced on Sunday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Madurai on January 23. This visit is set to formally launch the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) election campaign in Tamil Nadu.

The alliance plans to hold a major public meeting near Vandiyur Thidal in Madurai. Leaders from key NDA constituent parties, including the AIADMK, PMK, and Tamil Maanila Congress, are expected to participate in this event, showcasing a united front ahead of the electoral battle.

The combined announcements signal the BJP-led NDA's concerted push to consolidate its position and mount a serious challenge to the DMK in Tamil Nadu, with a clear focus on grassroots mobilization and leveraging local issues.
