BJP will wipe out opposition in Bihar: State chief

Patna: BJP state president Sanjay Saraogi said on Tuesday that if the party opens its doors fully, there would be no trace of the opposition left in Bihar. He made the remark after former RJD women’s wing state president and former Parihar MLA Ritu Jaiswal joined the BJP along with her supporters at the party’s Patna office.

Joining of Former RJD Leaders

Among those who joined the BJP with Ritu were RJD women’s wing state vice-president Professor Rajmani, Bhagalpur women’s wing president Seema Jaiswal and Youth RJD state secretary Maya Gupta. This influx of leaders from rival parties underscores the BJP's growing appeal in Bihar.

Saraogi’s Remarks on Development

Saraogi said leaders and workers from different political parties are joining the BJP because they are inspired by the politics of development, good governance and welfare for the poor under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. He said the Centre has launched several historic initiatives to ensure the dignity, security and empowerment of women.

Ritu Jaiswal’s Political Journey

Ritu had won the Parihar assembly seat in 2020 as an independent candidate before joining the RJD. However, she was denied a party ticket for the 2025 assembly elections and was later expelled from the party after contesting the polls as an independent candidate. Her move to the BJP is seen as a significant boost for the party in the region.

Ritu Jaiswal’s Advice to Tejashwi Yadav

After joining the BJP, Ritu advised RJD national working president Tejashwi Prasad Yadav to interact more with party workers, saying his father Lalu Prasad maintained close contact with grassroots workers. The former MLA said she was impressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of bringing even the person standing at the last rung of society into the mainstream. Praising Modi’s welfare initiatives, Ritu said the schemes were reaching people effectively and without difficulty.

Commitment to Women and Poor

Ritu asserted that the BJP is the only party genuinely working for the development of women, the poor and all sections of society. She expressed confidence that under the BJP's leadership, Bihar will witness unprecedented progress.
