Amravati: Taking a veiled jibe at former minister Bachchu Kadu, BJP's Achalpur MLA Pravin Tayade said his past agitations for farmers, labourers, and persons with disabilities were political drama aimed at securing electoral victories.
Tayade, while speaking at an event in Paratwada on Friday, alleged that Kadu was driven by money and had amassed significant wealth. Tayade also questioned Kadu's ideological shift after the latter joined Shiv Sena led by deputy chief minister Eknath Shinde. The MLA further claimed he possesses additional information against Kadu and would soon reveal two major cases. "You were elected by the same people you now insult. Those very people have defeated you," Tayade said. He challenged Kadu stating that political defeat should have been followed by constructive work rather than what he termed "low-level politics".
Tayade warned of a intense political rivalry ahead. "If you act against us, we will respond in the same manner. People should remain alert and prepared," he said.
Tayade's remarks come amid rising political tensions in the region. The BJP MLA's attack on Kadu underscores the deepening rift between the two leaders, with Tayade accusing Kadu of prioritizing personal gain over public service. He emphasized that Kadu's recent alignment with the Shinde faction of Shiv Sena reflects a lack of political consistency.
Political analysts view this as a strategic move by Tayade to consolidate his position in Achalpur, where Kadu remains a influential figure despite his recent electoral defeat. Tayade's warning of revealing major cases against Kadu could escalate the confrontation further.
Meanwhile, supporters of both leaders have started exchanging barbs on social media, indicating a heated political battle in the upcoming local body elections. The public has been advised to stay alert as the rivalry intensifies.
