BJP launches 2026 PCMC poll campaign in Punawale-Tathawade

With an eye on the upcoming Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) elections in 2026, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has formally initiated its campaign in Ward No. 25. The party launched its outreach with a significant padayatra (foot march) through the Punawale Gaothan area, signaling an early start to its electoral preparations.

Padayatra Route and Public Participation

The campaign march commenced at the Kal Bhairavnath Temple and wound its way through key localities including Borge Wada, Oval Vasti, and the Savatamali Temple area. The procession concluded at the Punawale Highway Chowk, drawing strong participation from local residents and a dedicated cadre of party workers. The event set a proactive tone for the BJP's campaign in the ward.

Leadership Pledges and Civic Promises

Addressing the gathered citizens, BJP leader Rahul Kalate emphasized the critical role of robust voter turnout in achieving comprehensive and sustainable development for the ward. He outlined the party's commitment to finding permanent solutions to long-standing civic problems plaguing Punawale and Tathawade.

Kalate specifically highlighted issues related to water supply, internal roads, traffic management, drainage systems, and basic civic amenities. "We give our word that these problems will be addressed in a lasting manner. As a committed worker, I will never allow the trust of citizens to weaken," Kalate assured the public.

Door-to-Door Outreach and Candidate Presence

Building on the momentum of the padayatra, Kalate intensified the campaign by conducting extensive door-to-door visits across the Tathawade-Punawale belt. These interactions allowed for direct engagement with residents, who shared their concerns and expectations for their neighbourhoods.

Party workers reported that many citizens expressed confidence in the BJP's development agenda, and the positive public response served as a morale booster, indicating growing support for the party in Ward No. 25. The campaign events also saw the presence of BJP candidates Kunal Vavhalakar, Reshma Chetan Bhujbal, and Shruti Ram Wakadkar, along with leaders Chetan Bhujbal and Ram Wakadkar and numerous local grassroots workers.

According to party leaders, the active involvement of citizens in both the padayatra and the subsequent door-to-door campaign is a clear indicator. It shows that the residents of the Tathawade-Punawale area are prepared to contribute to the larger objective of building a developed Pimpri-Chinchwad.
