After their meeting, Rohit was driving the car from Aredi towards the Ayodhya Bypass, with Arvind seated in the rear and Ajay in the front passenger seat. At around 5:30 PM, as the trio approached Shankar Quarry, the vehicle reportedly lost control while negotiating a turn. Eyewitnesses stated that the car was speeding, which may have contributed to the driver's inability to maintain control.

The car veered off the road, breaking through a fence and a fence pole before being flung into the air and plunging nearly 35 feet into the quarry below.
