Tragic Tractor-Trolley Overturn in Almora Claims Two Lives, Leaves Two Seriously Injured
A devastating accident in the serene hills of Uttarakhand has resulted in the loss of two young lives and left two others with serious injuries. The incident occurred on Sunday in Chintoli village, located under the Deghat tehsil of Almora district, when a tractor-trolley carrying stones overturned, trapping its occupants underneath.
Details of the Fatal Mishap
According to Sub-inspector Ajendra Prasad of the Deghat police station, the tractor was transporting stones when it suddenly went out of control and overturned. The violent rollover led to the immediate entrapment of all four individuals traveling in the vehicle, setting off a frantic rescue effort by local authorities and villagers.
Village guard Chandan Singh, along with a dedicated police team, swiftly arrived at the accident site. With the invaluable assistance of local residents, they launched an intensive rescue operation that lasted for a prolonged period. After strenuous efforts, the victims were carefully extracted from the wreckage.
Casualties and Medical Response
The injured were promptly transported to the Deghat community health centre for emergency medical attention. Tragically, doctors at the centre declared two of the victims dead upon arrival. The deceased have been identified as Darshan Singh, aged 24, and Chandan Singh, also 24, both residents of Chintoli village.
The two survivors, Gopal Singh, 24, and Narendra Singh, 18, received immediate first aid at the health centre. Due to the severity of their injuries, they were subsequently referred to a higher medical facility for advanced treatment and care.
