Akhilesh Yadav Honors BR Ambedkar, Integrates His Principles into SP's PDA Ideology
In Lucknow, Samajwadi Party national president Akhilesh Yadav paid rich tributes to BR Ambedkar on his birth anniversary, declaring that Babasaheb's foundational principles are a core component of the PDA community. This community, as described by Yadav, also incorporates the values of Ram Manohar Lohia and the enduring struggles for social justice led by SP founder Mulayum Singh Yadav.
Strategic Political Move to Unite Dalit Supporters
Political analysts are interpreting Akhilesh Yadav's deliberate alignment of Ambedkar with SP stalwarts like Lohia and Mulayam Singh Yadav as a calculated strategy. This move aims to convey a powerful message to the followers of the Dalit champion, assuring them of an equal and respected position within the party's ideological framework, alongside all other societal segments.
Statewide Celebrations and Outreach Initiatives
The Samajwadi Party's Babasaheb Ambedkar Vahini orchestrated extensive events across Uttar Pradesh. Party workers actively engaged with impoverished and marginalized communities, distributing fruits and sweets while educating them about the party's unwavering commitment to universal equality. Rambabu Sudarshan, the Vahini's national general secretary, confirmed these outreach efforts.
Senior party official Prof Sudhir Panwar led Ambedkar birth anniversary celebrations in multiple locations including Bhainswal, Goharni, Jalalpur, Jalalabad, and Sikka. Tributes were ceremoniously paid at all district headquarters party offices, with additional programs organized at the village level. These grassroots initiatives focused on connecting with common citizens, reinforcing the party's dedication to social justice and equal opportunity for all.
Akhilesh Yadav's Floral Tribute and Ideological Declaration
In Lucknow, Akhilesh Yadav offered floral tributes at the Ambedkar statue in Hazratganj. He expressed, "I extend my heartfelt greetings to all disciples and followers of revered Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar, the chief architect of the Indian Constitution. The inspiration and lessons drawn from Ambedkar's principles, Lohia's values, and Netaji Mulayam Singh Yadav's struggles have catalyzed the formation of a new, all-inclusive PDA community. This community is steadfastly committed to achieving emotional, ideological, social, economic, and political equality for every individual."
PDA Described as a Revolutionary Ideology
The former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister characterized the PDA as nothing less than a revolutionary movement, propelled by a positive mindset to establish the rule of social justice in the country's contemporary history. He elaborated that PDA represents "an ideology flourishing through mutual coordination, collaboration, harmony, and empathy, rather than adopting a confrontational approach."
Criticism of BJP Government Over Statue Vandalism
Akhilesh Yadav launched a sharp critique against the BJP-led state government, accusing it of failing to prevent the vandalism of Ambedkar's statues. He asserted, "Those who deliberately ignored the desecration of Ambedkar's statues are now attempting to disseminate a false narrative by announcing funds for their upkeep." This statement underscores ongoing political tensions regarding the protection of Dalit symbols and memorials.
