The All India Students' Association (AISA), Patna University, organized a protest march on the Patna College campus on Thursday, voicing concerns over alleged irregularities in recruitment and entrance examinations, including the teacher recruitment exam, and police action against aspirants.
Massive Student Participation
A large number of students participated in the march, led by AISA leaders including Nitish, Saba, Aditi, Azad, Ashish, Sumit, Monu, Adarsh, Deepu, Mohini, and Yusuf. The protesters raised slogans against corruption in the education system and criticized what they termed repressive government policies.
Allegations of Paper Leaks
Addressing the gathering, AISA (PU) president Nitish alleged that repeated incidents of paper leaks in examinations such as NEET and AEDO have eroded students' trust. He claimed that the issue reflects a deep-rooted problem and demanded accountability from the authorities concerned.
Concerns Over Police Action
AISA secretary Saba expressed concern over the treatment of Teacher Recruitment Examination (TRE) 4.0 aspirants. She alleged that peaceful protesters were subjected to police action and raised questions over safety, particularly for women candidates. She urged the administration to ensure that the democratic rights of students are protected.
Demands of the Protest
- Immediate halt to police action against aspirants
- Release of those detained
- Steps to prevent paper leaks
- Action against those responsible for alleged irregularities in recent examinations
- Early announcement of fresh dates for affected tests
The organization warned that it would intensify its stir across the state if the demands are not addressed.
