Uttar Pradesh CM Orders Immediate Relief After Deadly Storm
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to provide immediate relief and compensation to the families of victims who lost their lives in a severe rain and dust storm that swept across the state. The storm, accompanied by strong winds, caused widespread damage and claimed several lives in various districts.
Details of the Storm
The heavy rain and dust storm struck multiple regions of Uttar Pradesh, uprooting trees, damaging houses, and disrupting power supply. The most affected areas include Agra, Mathura, Firozabad, and Mainpuri, where several people were killed and many others injured. The storm also caused significant damage to crops and infrastructure.
Government Response
CM Yogi Adityanath has instructed district magistrates and senior officials to reach the affected areas and ensure that all necessary assistance is provided to the victims. He has announced an ex-gratia payment of Rs 4 lakh to the families of each deceased person. Additionally, compensation will be given to those injured and for property damage.
The Chief Minister also directed the health department to ensure that injured persons receive proper medical treatment. He emphasized the need for quick restoration of electricity and water supply in the affected regions.
Relief and Rescue Operations
State disaster response teams have been deployed to assist in rescue and relief operations. Temporary shelters have been set up for those whose homes were damaged. The government has also announced that farmers whose crops were destroyed will receive compensation under the state's disaster relief fund.
CM Adityanath has asked officials to conduct a detailed survey of the damage and submit a report at the earliest. He reiterated his commitment to providing all possible support to the affected families during this difficult time.
