A tragic accident occurred on Wednesday morning near Chandradhal in Madiaon, Lucknow, when a speeding truck lost control and collided with four vehicles, leaving four people seriously injured. Among the victims was a young man whose leg was severed in the impact.

Accident Details

The incident took place around 7 am on the service lane of Lucknow-Sitapur Road, approximately 200 meters from the police station. Auto drivers were boarding passengers under the flyover when the truck veered onto the narrow service lane at high speed. It struck an e-rickshaw, a CNG auto, a car, and a motorcycle. A woman was thrown 10 feet away from the impact.

Victims and Injuries

Ashu Gautam (26), a resident of Bharat Nagar in Madiaon, suffered the most severe injuries. He became trapped between the truck and the divider, resulting in his left leg being severed. His younger brother Anand had accompanied him to drop him off. Anand recounted, "As soon as he got off the bike and turned towards an auto, the truck hit from behind." Another injured youth, Abhay Kumar Singh (22) of Kushinagar district, is in critical condition. Nidhi (28), a teacher at a Sitapur government school, sustained a fracture in her right leg.

Response and Investigation

Eyewitnesses reported that after the truck crushed the vehicles, the driver and helper fled the scene, according to Madiyaon SHO Shivanand Mishra. Police, Civil Defence volunteers, and local residents quickly shifted the injured to KGMU and Jankipuram hospitals for treatment. Authorities are investigating the incident and searching for the absconding driver.
