Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has shifted his focus to the numerous long-pending projects under the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA). In a recent review meeting, he emphasized the need to expedite these projects and resolve public grievances efficiently.
Review of BDA Projects
Shivakumar, who also holds the Bengaluru Development portfolio, chaired a high-level meeting with BDA officials to assess the status of various infrastructure initiatives. He directed officials to prioritize the completion of road networks, residential layouts, and civic amenities that have been delayed for years.
Key Directives
The Deputy CM instructed the BDA to adopt a time-bound approach for all pending works. He stressed that no further delays would be tolerated and called for regular monitoring of progress. Additionally, he urged the authority to address land acquisition issues and coordinate with other government departments to remove bottlenecks.
Public Grievances
Shivakumar also highlighted the importance of addressing complaints from citizens regarding incomplete projects and poor maintenance. He asked BDA officials to set up a dedicated grievance redressal mechanism and ensure transparency in project implementation.
Future Plans
The BDA has been tasked with preparing a comprehensive action plan for the next six months, focusing on completing stalled projects and launching new initiatives for sustainable urban development. Shivakumar assured full support from the state government to overcome financial and administrative hurdles.
