SC Collegium Recommends 10 HC Judges for 3 States

The Supreme Court collegium, headed by Chief Justice of India Surya Kant, has recommended the names of 10 advocates and judicial officers for appointment as judges of high courts in Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh.

Karnataka High Court Recommendations

The collegium, which also includes Justices Vikram Nath and J K Maheshwari, on Tuesday forwarded the names of six advocates to the Union government for appointment as judges of the Karnataka High Court. The recommended advocates are Raghavendra Seetharam Srivatsa, Hema Kulkarni, Subramanya Rangarao, Thadagavadi Prakash Vivekananda, Bakkeswara Pramod, and Hombe Gowda Shanthi Bhushan.

Himachal Pradesh High Court Recommendations

For the Himachal Pradesh High Court, the collegium recommended three senior judicial officers: Chirag Bhanu Singh, Bhupesh Sharma, and Yogesh Jaswal. These individuals have been selected based on their experience and performance in the judiciary.

Madhya Pradesh High Court Recommendation

In the case of the Madhya Pradesh High Court, the collegium recommended advocate Amit Lahoti for appointment as a judge. His name was chosen after careful evaluation.

Selection Process

The names were finalized by the collegium through a series of meetings and personal interviews with the candidates. The recommendations have been sent to the central government for further action.
