In a tragic incident, a Rapido bike rider and his passenger lost their lives in a road accident in Ghaziabad. The mishap took place on the Delhi-Meerut Road near the UP Gate area late on Tuesday night.
Details of the Accident
According to the police, the Rapido rider, identified as 22-year-old Ravi Kumar, was heading towards Ghaziabad with his passenger, 30-year-old Pradeep Singh. A speeding unknown vehicle hit their bike from behind, causing both to fall and sustain severe injuries. They were rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared them brought dead.
Police Investigation
The Ghaziabad Police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. The police are scanning CCTV footage from the area to identify the hit-and-run vehicle. A senior police officer stated that efforts are on to trace the vehicle and apprehend the driver.
This incident has raised concerns over road safety in the region. Local residents have demanded better traffic management and stricter action against rash driving. The families of the deceased have been informed, and further legal proceedings are underway.
