Police Recover Rs 30 Lakh Stolen Goods, Arrest Three in Lucknow

The police in Lucknow have recovered stolen cash, jewellery, and other valuables worth nearly ₹30 lakh and arrested three individuals in connection with a house burglary that took place in Gudamba earlier this month. The arrests were made by a joint team comprising the crime branch, east zone surveillance unit, and Gudamba police, following sustained tracking and intelligence gathering.

Details of the Incident

The case is based on a complaint filed on April 15 by Sarfaraz Hussain, who reported that after the lock of an almirah in his house was broken, valuables and cash were stolen. The police initiated an investigation and managed to nab the accused late on April 24 from a forested stretch.

Identification of the Accused

DCP of east zone, Deeksha Sharma, stated that the trio has been identified as Adeebur Rahman alias Addu (24), Zeeshan Ghazi alias Chhotu (24), and Ramji Rajaram Soni (56). From their possession, the police recovered ₹1.1 lakh in cash, gold jewellery, metal pieces, rings, and four mobile phones. The total value of the recovered items is estimated to be around ₹30 lakh.

Additional Seizures and Legal Action

An illegal .32 bore pistol with four live cartridges was also seized from one of the accused, leading to an additional case under the Arms Act. The police also confiscated a motorcycle that was used by the accused during the commission of the crime. Officials noted that the group has a history of similar offences.

Ongoing Investigation

Further investigation is underway to determine if the accused are linked to other theft cases. The DCP added that the police are working to uncover any other crimes that might be connected to this group. This operation highlights the effectiveness of coordinated efforts between different police units in tackling property crimes in the city.
