Mumbai: Neral-Aman Lodge Train Services Suspended During Monsoon
Neral-Aman Lodge Trains Suspended in Monsoon

Mumbai: In a move to ensure passenger safety during the monsoon season, regular train services on the Neral–Aman Lodge railway section will be suspended from June 15 to October 15, 2026. The decision comes as a precautionary measure against the heavy rains that often lash the region during this period.

Service Continuation on Aman Lodge–Matheran Section

However, train services on the Aman Lodge–Matheran railway section will continue to operate as usual throughout the monsoon. These services will run between Aman Lodge and Matheran with a six-coach rake, which includes three second-class coaches, one first-class coach, and two SLR/LR coaches, adhering to the prescribed timetable.

Safety First

The suspension of services on the Neral–Aman Lodge section is primarily driven by safety considerations. The route is prone to landslides and other weather-related hazards during the monsoon, making it risky for regular passenger operations. The authorities have urged passengers to plan their journeys accordingly and opt for alternative transportation during this period.

For those traveling to Matheran, the hill station remains accessible via the Aman Lodge–Matheran section, which is considered safer and will continue to operate with enhanced safety protocols.
