Ludhiana: A group of men brutally attacked an 18-year-old boy with sharp-edged weapons in broad daylight near the Neela Jhanda gurdwara in the division no. 3 area. According to sources, the victim had gone there to confront the accused, who was involved in a relationship with the victim's friend.
The situation escalated into a heated argument, during which the accused assaulted the youngster and snatched his motorcycle. Police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against Jatin, Saurav, Deepal, and eight unidentified individuals based on a complaint from the victim, Vansh, a resident of Shimlapuri.
Details of the Incident
Investigating officer ASI Amarjeet Singh from division no. 3 police station stated, "Accused Jatin was dating a friend of the victim, Vansh. She recently discovered that Jatin was married and confided in Vansh, who decided to meet Jatin to discuss the matter. They met near Neela Jhanda gurdwara, where an argument broke out. Both Vansh and Jatin were accompanied by their friends, and all of them engaged in a scuffle."
The officer added that Vansh's friends fled the scene when the accused attacked him with sharp-edged weapons. Vansh sustained a head injury and is currently hospitalized.

Police have registered a case under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including:
- Section 109 (attempt to murder)
- Section 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt)
- Section 118(2) (voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means)
- Section 126 (wrongful restraint)
- Section 351(2) (criminal intimidation)
- Section 304 (snatching)
- Section 191(3) (rioting armed with deadly weapons)
- Section 190 (every member of unlawful assembly guilty of offence committed in prosecution of common intention)
ASI Amarjeet Singh confirmed that police have obtained a video of the incident, which is being used to identify and trace the accused. The investigation is ongoing.
