The Haryana government has suspended Sneha, the Naib Tehsildar of Rajaund in Kaithal district, a day after she was issued a show-cause notice for allegedly remaining absent from duty. The suspension order was issued by Financial Commissioner Revenue Dr. Sumita Misra on Thursday, though the exact reasons behind the disciplinary action remain undisclosed.
Suspension Details and Headquarters
According to the suspension order, during the period of suspension, Sneha's headquarters will be the office of the Directorate of Land Records Haryana in Panchkula. She is required to remain present at this headquarters and cannot leave without prior permission from the Director of Land Records.
Subsistence Allowance and Conditions
For the six-month suspension period, Sneha will receive subsistence allowance as per Rule 83 of the Haryana Civil Services (General) Rules 2016. This allowance is equivalent to the leave salary she would have drawn if on leave on half pay. However, she must furnish a certificate confirming that she is not engaged in any other employment, business, profession, or vocation during the suspension.
Background of the Incident
It is reported that during a visit to the Rajaund Tehsil, Kaithal Deputy Commissioner Aparajita found Sneha absent from duty. Taking serious note of the matter, the DC issued a show-cause notice and emphasized that negligence in official responsibilities would not be tolerated. The suspension followed this notice.
The case highlights the state government's stance on accountability and discipline among public servants. Further details regarding the suspension are awaited.
