Jharkhand's Tribal Development Initiatives Show Remarkable Progress
The state of Jharkhand is making significant strides in developing its remote tribal regions through effective implementation of schemes for Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTG). Mukesh Kumar, secretary of the state planning and development under the finance department, revealed these achievements during his address at a seminar titled 'Super 60' organized by NITI Aayog in Ranchi on Friday.
Innovative Approaches to Tribal Welfare
Despite facing considerable geographical challenges, the state government has successfully implemented several innovative programs designed specifically for the holistic development of PVTG communities. Kumar highlighted that the 'Dakiya Yojana' initiative has been particularly effective in ensuring government services reach even the most remote villages. Under this unique scheme, essential items, nutritional food, and medicines are being delivered directly to people's doorsteps, overcoming accessibility barriers that have historically plagued these regions.
Comprehensive Development in PVTG Blocks
The secretary emphasized that Jharkhand has achieved remarkable accomplishments in the development of primitive tribal communities. In several PVTG blocks, schemes related to roads, electricity, drinking water, housing, and education are being implemented in saturation mode. This comprehensive approach ensures that multiple aspects of development are addressed simultaneously, creating a more substantial impact on the quality of life for tribal communities.
The seminar saw participation from officials across multiple states including Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, and Odisha, who gathered to deliberate and share their experiences in service delivery and livelihood strengthening in PVTG blocks. Kumar stated with conviction, "Our objective is to ensure that no primitive community in Jharkhand is deprived of the mainstream of development." This commitment reflects the state government's determination to bridge the development gap and bring transformative changes to tribal populations who have historically remained on the margins of progress.
