Hubballi: An elderly woman sustained injuries after an iron rod fell on her from an under-construction flyover at Hosur Circle on Friday. The victim, identified as Yashodha Jahdav, 65, is a resident of Tevaramellahalli village in Shiggaon taluk, Haveri district.
Incident Details
According to witnesses, Yashodha was walking on a footpath near Pandurangi building when the iron rod struck her head. Bystanders immediately rushed her to KMC-RI hospital for treatment. The workers at the construction site fled the scene following the incident.
Police Response
Vidyanagar police visited the hospital and registered a case. Officials stated that the woman was on her way to her daughter's residence in Navanagar, Hubballi, at the time of the accident. Further investigation is underway.
