A parked car was completely destroyed after it caught fire near Jaam Gate viewpoint on Mhow-Mandleshwar road on Monday, police said. The four occupants of the vehicle escaped unharmed after noticing flames emerging from the bonnet and jumping out of the vehicle.
Incident Details
The four individuals were traveling from Maheshwar to Indore and stopped near Jaam Gate. According to Shankar Ninama, a tea vendor at the spot, the occupants were having tea when sparks suddenly emerged from the bonnet. “People nearby raised the alarm, and all four occupants quickly came out of the vehicle and crossed the road. Within minutes, the flames intensified and engulfed the entire car,” Ninama said.
Ninama added that two other cars were parked nearby, but their owners moved them away before the fire could spread.
Police Response
Badgonda police stated that they received information about the incident, but no formal complaint was lodged until Monday evening. “Details of the vehicle and its occupants are yet to be officially recorded. Further action will be taken after a complaint is received,” said sub-inspector Anil Chakre.
Cause Under Investigation
The exact cause of the fire has not been determined yet. It is suspected that the fire may have originated from the engine compartment. Authorities are awaiting a formal complaint to proceed with the investigation.
