The EC has deployed extensive flying squads and surveillance teams to monitor and curb the distribution of inducements.
Key Seizures Include:
- Cash amounting to over Rs 150 crore
- Large quantities of liquor and narcotics
- Freebies such as electronic items and household goods
EC's Vigilance Measures
The Election Commission has emphasized its zero-tolerance policy towards electoral malpractices. Special observers and police forces have been stationed to ensure compliance with the Model Code of Conduct. The EC has also set up a dedicated control room to coordinate seizure operations across all districts.
This development comes amid heightened political activity in the state, with major parties contesting fiercely for the 294 assembly seats. The EC's efforts are aimed at preventing any undue influence on voters through illicit means.
