Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy asserted on Saturday that society has completely boycotted the family of former chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), declaring that the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has no future in the state. Speaking at a public meeting, Reddy accused the BRS of being disconnected from the people and warned that any opposition to the Musi River rejuvenation project would be met with severe consequences.
Society Rejects BRS Leadership
Revanth Reddy stated that the people of Telangana have lost faith in the KCR family and the BRS party. He claimed that the party's leadership is no longer relevant and that the public has moved on. According to the CM, the BRS has failed to address key issues facing the state, leading to a complete loss of credibility among voters.
Musi River Project Warning
The chief minister issued a stern warning to those attempting to create hurdles for the Musi River rejuvenation project, a flagship initiative of his government. He said, "Those who create obstacles for the Musi River project will be dumped into the river itself." This statement underscores the government's determination to push forward with the development plan despite any political opposition.
Political Implications
Reddy's remarks come amid heightened political tensions in Telangana, with the ruling Congress party seeking to consolidate its position after defeating the BRS in the last assembly elections. The CM's comments are seen as an attempt to marginalize the BRS further and assert Congress's dominance in the state's political landscape.
The Musi River project aims to clean and beautify the river that runs through Hyderabad, a key electoral promise of the Congress party. The government has allocated significant funds for the project, which is expected to improve the city's environment and infrastructure.
