The ceremony featured a particularly noteworthy moment when DMDK MP L K Sudhish was called to take his oath. Sudhish appeared wearing his party shawl, prompting Vice-President and Rajya Sabha Chairman C P Radhakrishnan to request that he remove the shawl before proceeding with the oath-taking formalities.
Following this instruction, Sudhish proceeded with his oath but then made a symbolic gesture by displaying a photograph of the late DMDK founder Vijayakant to the entire house. This tribute to his party's founder added a poignant political dimension to the parliamentary proceedings, connecting the new MP's role to his party's legacy and values.
