Congress leader K P Siddique on Saturday compared the ongoing Chief Minister selection row in Kerala to labour pain, expressing confidence that all issues would be resolved smoothly. Speaking to reporters on his arrival to meet AICC leader K C Venugopal, Siddique said the party leadership, which listens to everyone, would effectively settle the matter along with the Chief Minister-designate.
Labour Pain Analogy
Siddique stated, 'The current situation is like labour pain. After some time, everything will be fine.' He emphasized that the party leadership is committed to addressing all concerns and ensuring a smooth transition. The analogy comes amid heightened speculation over the next Chief Minister of Kerala following the recent election results.
Party Leadership Role
The Congress leader highlighted that the AICC leadership, including K C Venugopal, is actively engaged in discussions with all stakeholders. 'They listen to everyone and take decisions collectively. The Chief Minister-designate will also play a crucial role in resolving any outstanding issues,' Siddique added. He expressed optimism that the party would emerge stronger from the current phase.
Political observers note that the delay in announcing the Chief Minister has led to internal tensions within the Kerala Congress unit. However, Siddique's remarks suggest that the party is working towards a consensus. The final decision is expected soon, with the party high command likely to announce the name in the coming days.
