Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah declared that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance's (NDA) consecutive electoral triumphs, particularly in Bihar, serve as a powerful public endorsement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's governance and welfare initiatives. Shah made these remarks while addressing a gathering in Bhavnagar, Gujarat, following the inauguration of the new district party office.
A Decisive Mandate Against 'Jungle Raj'
Shah framed the recently concluded Bihar elections as a clear ideological battle. He stated that on one side was the 'ghamandiya gathbandhan' (arrogant alliance), an allusion to the RJD-Congress Mahagathbandhan, which he accused of believing in 'jungle raj' (lawlessness). He contrasted this with the NDA, which he credited with making Bihar safe. The Home Minister also drew a sharp distinction on the issue of national security, alleging that the Congress supported illegal infiltrators while the BJP is committed to identifying and deporting every such individual from the entire country.
"The people of Bihar have given a historic mandate," Shah emphasized, underscoring the public's perceived preference for security and development.
A Nationwide Winning Streak for NDA
Amit Shah elaborated on the NDA's pan-India electoral dominance, listing a series of significant victories that have followed the 2024 general elections. He highlighted that Prime Minister Modi secured a third term, a historic feat in itself. The winning streak, according to Shah, includes:
- Forming the government in Bihar for the fifth consecutive time since 2010.
- A first-time government formation in Odisha.
- Recording a 'hat-trick' of victories in Haryana and Maharashtra.
- A third-term government in Arunachal Pradesh.
- A first-time government in Andhra Pradesh.
- An NDA government coming to power in Sikkim.
- Returning to power in Delhi after 27 years, leading to the wipe-out of the AAP.
Welfare Schemes and 'Made in India' Policies: The Winning Formula
Shah attributed this "tradition of continuous victories" directly to the pro-people policies of the Modi government. He stated that this success is a "seal of approval" from the citizens for initiatives such as housing for the poor, the construction of toilets, universal electricity access, free grain distribution, and the Ayushman Bharat scheme providing free health treatment up to Rs 5 lakh.
He also took a swipe at previous governments, accusing them of a "cut-paste" approach by implementing policies designed in foreign nations. In contrast, he praised PM Modi for conducting a deep study of India's unique issues and framing tailor-made policies for their resolution.
Concluding his address, Shah highlighted the importance of robust party infrastructure, revealing that 697 out of 787 targeted district office buildings across the country have been completed. In Gujarat, he noted that 25 out of 42 district offices were already built, with work in progress on five more, reinforcing the party's grassroots organizational strength.
