Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to Headline Major BJP Rally in Haldwani Celebrating Uttarakhand Government's Four-Year Milestone
Dehradun: Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is set to address a significant public rally in Haldwani on March 21, marking the completion of four years of the Pushkar Singh Dhami-led government in Uttarakhand. The announcement was made by BJP state president Mahendra Bhatt on Saturday, emphasizing the event's importance in showcasing the administration's accomplishments.
Rally to Highlight Development Initiatives and Government Achievements
Bhatt stated that the rally, to be held in the Kumaon region, will serve as a platform to highlight the government's development initiatives and achievements over the past four years. He expressed confidence in a large turnout, drawing parallels to the recent public event in Haridwar attended by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, which saw substantial participation.
"The Haldwani rally could see participation from lakhs of people," Bhatt remarked, citing positive public response to the government's work. He added that the event aims to reinforce the BJP's connection with voters and celebrate the state's progress under Chief Minister Dhami's leadership.
BJP's Membership Drive and Political Strategy
Speaking at the BJP state headquarters, Bhatt detailed the party's ongoing membership drive, welcoming new and former political and social workers who wish to join the BJP. Decisions on new entrants will be made based on recommendations from the party's joining committee, ensuring a structured approach to expanding its base.
The BJP has set an ambitious target of adding 2,000 to 3,000 workers in each assembly constituency, with the drive already initiated in Dharchula. This effort underscores the party's strategy to strengthen grassroots support ahead of future electoral challenges.
Criticism of Opposition Congress
Bhatt took a swipe at the opposition Congress, alleging that its legislators failed to adequately raise public issues during the recently concluded assembly session. In contrast, he praised BJP MLAs for actively addressing questions related to public concerns and regional matters, positioning the ruling party as more responsive to citizens' needs.
This rally comes at a crucial time, as the BJP seeks to consolidate its position in Uttarakhand, leveraging high-profile leaders like Rajnath Singh to galvanize support and showcase the Dhami government's track record.
