In a significant address that blended religious symbolism with nationalist discourse, preacher Pradeep Mishra on Sunday drew a striking parallel between the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and Lord Shiva. The comparison was made during a session focused on 'social harmony' in Bhopal.
RSS's Work Compared to Shiva's Sacrifice
Speaking on the second day of RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat's visit to Bhopal, Mishra elaborated on his analogy. He stated there is a profound similarity between the way Lord Shiva consumed poison (halahala) to save the world and the manner in which the RSS continues its work for nation-building. According to Mishra, the RSS perseveres in its mission despite facing numerous accusations, much like Shiva who took in the venom for the greater good.
Emphasis on Unified Hindu and Indian Identity
Delving deeper into the theme of social cohesion, the preacher made a strong statement on identity. He asserted that irrespective of the caste a person is born into, their primary identity is that of a Hindu, a Sanatani, and an Indian. Mishra highlighted his belief that every Indian possesses an inherent and amazing capacity to contribute to the upliftment of both society and the nation.
A Warning Against Religious Conversions
Pradeep Mishra also used the platform to strongly denounce religious conversions. He labeled the practice as a 'big conspiracy' against society. Issuing a caution, he warned that this phenomenon would have detrimental effects not only on the present generation but also on posterity. His remarks underscored a call for vigilance among the people attending the session.
The event, part of RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat's itinerary in the Madhya Pradesh capital, has sparked considerable discussion, placing the organization's philosophy and its perceived role in contemporary India under the spotlight once again.
