Prime Minister Narendra Modi chose to wait at Delhi airport on Sunday instead of exiting immediately to avoid traffic disruptions, as the NEET-UG re-examination was set to begin at 2 PM, according to ANI sources. The Prime Minister reportedly arrived at Delhi airport at 1:15 PM and decided to delay his departure to his residence to ensure students faced no problems reaching their examination centres and that traffic movement remained smooth.
NEET-UG Re-exam Details
The NEET-UG re-examination is being held at 5,440 centres across 551 cities in India, as well as at 14 international locations. Over 95,000 examination rooms have been placed under CCTV surveillance through 1.38 lakh cameras monitored at multiple levels. More than 51,000 jammers have also been deployed to prevent electronic malpractice. Candidates reported stricter frisking and security checks compared to the earlier examination.
Delhi Security Arrangements
According to earlier reports, Delhi had heightened security arrangements with additional police personnel deployed at examination centres across the city. Authorities carried out strict entry checks, traffic management and crowd-control measures to ensure the examination was conducted smoothly and without disruption. Free drinking water and refreshments were also provided for parents and guardians waiting outside the centres.
