Patna Junction Ramps Up Security for Anticipated Holi Passenger Surge

Patna Junction, a critical railway hub under the Danapur division of the East Central Railway (ECR), is implementing comprehensive security enhancements in anticipation of a significant increase in passenger traffic during the Holi festival period. Authorities have mobilized additional forces to maintain order and ensure the safety of all travelers at one of the region's busiest stations.

Multi-Agency Security Deployment

According to Patna Railway Protection Force (RPF) Inspector Shankar Ajay Patel, a coordinated team comprising RPF personnel, Railway Protection Special Force (RPSF) members, and Bihar Military Police (BMP) officers has been strategically deployed. This combined force is tasked with managing the expected rise in footfall and upholding law and order throughout the station premises.

The Danapur control room, which supervises operations at Patna Junction, is maintaining heightened surveillance and continuous monitoring of the situation. From March 5, a designated holding area will become operational to better organize passenger flow and prevent congestion.

Advanced Surveillance and Safety Protocols

To bolster security, multiple measures have been put in place:

  • CCTV cameras have been installed at various strategic points across the station for round-the-clock monitoring.
  • Specialized dog squads and bomb detection teams are conducting thorough, systematic checks of the entire premises.
  • A baggage scanner system has been implemented to inspect passengers' luggage, ensuring no threats or prohibited items enter the station.

Danapur railway sources confirm that all established safety protocols are being rigorously followed to prevent any chaos. Regular announcements are being made via the station's public address system to keep passengers informed about train schedules and updates. Authorities have assured that there will be no last-minute platform changes for trains, a measure designed to eliminate confusion and streamline passenger movement.

Coordinated Efforts for Passenger Safety

Danapur Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Abhinav Siddarth emphasized that the railways are working in close coordination with security forces to ensure a hassle-free travel experience. "Our priority is to ensure the safety of everyone at the station," Siddarth stated, highlighting the collaborative approach being taken to address the seasonal rush.

These proactive steps reflect a concerted effort by East Central Railway authorities to manage the Holi-related passenger surge effectively, combining robust security with clear communication to maintain a safe and orderly environment at Patna Junction.
