The historic Ram Temple in Ayodhya is set to host a grand ceremony to mark the first day of Chaitra Navratra on March 19, with three distinguished women taking center stage. President Droupadi Murmu will serve as the chief guest, Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel will accompany her, and spiritual leader Mata Amritanandamayi from Kerala will lead the religious rituals alongside the President.

Ceremony Details and Key Participants

The event, organized by the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra trust, will see President Murmu arrive in Ayodhya around 11 am to preside over the main religious activities. According to Champat Rai, general secretary of the temple trust, the President will conduct a puja (prayer ceremony) and place the Ram Yantra as part of the celebrations. Mata Amritanandamayi is scheduled to reach Ayodhya a day in advance with her followers to prepare for her role in the rituals.

Large-Scale Attendance and Invitations

Approximately 7,000 individuals are expected to attend the ceremony, reflecting its significance. The temple trust has extended invitations to nearly 500 saints and seers from Ayodhya and neighboring districts. Additionally, invitations have been sent to:

  • Old party workers and members of a saffron outfit from Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
  • Prominent workers and skilled professionals who contributed to the temple's construction, including those involved in civil works, crafting, dust suppression, architecture, security, and administration.

Security Measures and Post-Ceremony Plans

To ensure the sanctity and safety of the event, strict security protocols will be enforced. No mobile phones, personal accessories, or other belongings will be permitted within the temple premises during the ceremony, as confirmed by an official. After the key religious ceremony, President Murmu is expected to have lunch on the temple premises before departing from the city.
