Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini Promotes BJP's Governance in West Bengal Ahead of Assembly Elections

Chandigarh: In a strategic political move, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, who has been steadfastly representing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Punjab, made a significant foray into West Bengal on Tuesday. His visit aimed to highlight the governance models of Haryana and the Union government as the state gears up for its upcoming assembly elections.

Public Address in Kulpi Emphasizes Change and Development

Addressing a large public gathering during the Parivartan Sankalp Yatra at Kulpi in the 24 Parganas district of West Bengal, Saini expressed his honor in traveling from Haryana, the land where Lord Shri Krishna delivered the message of the Bhagavad Gita. He asserted that the people of West Bengal are prepared to usher in a transformative change to build a Viksit Bengal, or developed Bengal.

Saini underscored the critical importance of transparent governance, welfare-oriented schemes, and development-driven politics under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He praised Bengal as a land of hardworking fishermen and farmers, whose contributions have been vital in shaping the nation's history and culture. The rich cultural heritage of Bengal has profoundly influenced the entire country, making its people a source of pride and inspiration for India, he added.

Criticism of Mamata Banerjee's Administration

The Haryana CM launched a sharp critique against the current West Bengal government led by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. He stated that this campaign is not merely a political program but a clarion call for change to remove what he described as a weak and corruption-ridden administration. According to Saini, the people of Bengal are yearning for development, change, and freedom from fear and corruption, with the large turnout at the public meeting reflecting a rapid movement toward transformation.

He highlighted specific issues in the 24 Parganas region, known for its diligent fishermen and farmers. Farmers are not receiving adequate facilities and market support, youth face unemployment, and corruption, appeasement, and violence are rampant. Saini accused the Mamata Banerjee government of failing to compensate residents for losses caused by natural disasters and cyclones, further exacerbating their hardships.

Allegations of Governance Failures and Security Threats

Saini lamented that Bengal, a land whose great leaders once guided the country and sacrificed for independence, is now witnessing such unfortunate conditions. He claimed that the youth of Bengal are determined to oust the present government from power. Instead of fostering opportunities, the state government has driven industries away from Bengal, leading to growing public anger.

He also made serious allegations, accusing the state government of turning Bengal into a safe haven for infiltrators, which he argued poses a significant threat to democracy and national security.

Contrasting Healthcare Schemes and Governance Approaches

In his speech, Saini pointed to the Ayushman Bharat scheme as an example of effective governance. He noted that in Haryana, this scheme provides free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh in hospitals, benefiting 27 lakh families with central government funding of Rs 450 crore. However, he expressed concern that the Bengal government has failed to extend these benefits to the poor, depriving many eligible individuals due to administrative and political reasons.

In contrast, Saini emphasized that the Haryana government is continuously working to ensure that the benefits of all government schemes reach every eligible beneficiary without any discrimination. This comparison aimed to showcase the BJP's commitment to inclusive and efficient governance as a model for West Bengal to emulate in the pursuit of development and prosperity.
