Harish Rao Alleges Phone Tapping of BRS Leaders by Congress

Former minister T Harish Rao on Tuesday alleged that some officials, acting on the instructions of the Congress government, were tapping phones of BRS leaders and using CCTV cameras near their homes to monitor their movements. He claimed that officials hired hackers from Bengaluru by paying them large sums of money.

Allegations at Sangareddy Central Jail

Speaking to the media at Sangareddy Central Jail after meeting BRS leader M Krishank and others on Tuesday, Harish Rao said the party has evidence that Telangana police officers hacked systems to track BRS leaders. He stated that the BRS was documenting the actions of officers and warned that the party would order an inquiry after returning to power.

Threat of Action Against Officials

Harish Rao said officials involved would face action and would not escape accountability even after retirement. He added that retired officers would have to bear their own legal expenses. He also claimed that BRS was recording the actions of police and other officials who, he said, were helping the ruling Congress and targeting opposition leaders for raising public issues.

Accusations Against Chief Minister

Harish Rao also accused Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy of planning a new ultra-modern camp office costing 100 crore. He said the CM was focused on making money and living lavishly instead of serving the public, and alleged that he failed to fulfil his election promises.
