Fire Near Noida Sector 76 Market Destroys Shops

A fire broke out near the Sector 76 vegetable market in Noida on Tuesday afternoon, gutting goods in several shops and causing panic in the area. No casualties were reported.

Incident Details

The blaze was reported around 2 pm, with flames erupting in a slum adjacent to the market. Two fire tenders were rushed to the spot. Chief fire officer Pradeep Kumar Chaubey stated that two to three fruit and vegetable shops, along with heaped garbage and scrap material nearby, had caught fire.

Firefighting Efforts

Firefighters sprayed water from multiple sides to prevent the blaze from spreading. The fire was brought under control after nearly an hour. Goods stored in the affected shops were completely gutted.

Suspected Cause

A short circuit is suspected to have triggered the fire, though the exact cause is yet to be established.

Other Fire Incidents

In another incident, a fire broke out near the district court gate 4 after a leakage in an underground IGL pipeline around 6 pm on Tuesday. The fire was doused by a team from Surajpur fire station.

In a separate incident, a fire broke out in a flat at Nirala Estate in Greater Noida West on Monday due to a lamp. The society’s maintenance team extinguished it using in-house equipment.
