Congress Dig at RSS Chief Hosabale Over Pakistan Remarks

The Congress party on Wednesday took a sharp dig at Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leader Dattatreya Hosabale over his recent remarks on Pakistan, suggesting that his visit to the United States had influenced both him and the organization.

Congress Questions Hypocrisy

The opposition party also wondered how the "bhakt brigade, including the various TV channels", would have reacted if the same remarks were made by someone else. Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera said, "It seems Dattatreya Hosabale's recent US trip impacted him as well as the RSS. The hypocrisy is evident when the same people who criticise others for speaking about Pakistan suddenly soften their stance."

Context of the Remarks

Hosabale, during a recent interaction, had made statements regarding Pakistan that were perceived as conciliatory by some. This drew sharp reactions from various quarters, including the Congress party, which accused the RSS of double standards.

"If any other leader had made such remarks, the bhakt brigade and TV channels would have been frothing, fuming, and fulminating," Khera added, highlighting the perceived bias in media coverage.

The Congress's criticism comes amid ongoing political tensions and is likely to spark further debate on the RSS's stance on foreign policy issues.
