Addressing the gathering, CM Sai expressed strong confidence that the Bastar region is steadily advancing towards becoming free from Naxalism. He highlighted the government's dedicated efforts to ensure security and development in the area, reinforcing the administration's focus on tribal welfare and regional stability.
Inauguration of 100-Seater Hostel for Tribal Students
A key highlight of the ceremony was the inauguration of a 100-seater hostel built at a cost of Rs 5 crore on the TRTI campus. This modern facility is designed to provide enhanced opportunities for higher education and research to tribal youth, aiming to empower them through better access to academic resources and residential support.
Celebration of Tribal Cultural Diversity
The festival, themed "From Tradition to Identity," served as a vibrant platform for tribal folk artists from Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Odisha, Maharashtra, and Jharkhand. Members of 43 distinct tribes participated in the programme, showcasing their unique traditions through performances, attire, and art, thereby highlighting the region's immense cultural richness.
Recognition in Golden Book of World Records
The 'Adi Parab' painting and attire received prestigious recognition in the Golden Book of World Records, a milestone celebrated by the Chief Minister. He congratulated the tribal development department for this achievement and witnessed an attire show featuring traditional costumes from all 43 tribes, underscoring the festival's global cultural significance.
Felicitations for Academic Achievements
CM Sai also took the opportunity to felicitate UPSC achievers and students from Prayas Residential Schools for their outstanding academic success. This gesture aimed to inspire and acknowledge the hard work of tribal youth, reinforcing the government's support for educational excellence and career advancement within tribal communities.
