Andhra Pradesh Official Commends Uttarakhand's Development Framework Following Insightful Study Tour

Lanka Dinakar, the chairman overseeing the implementation of the 20-Point Programme for Viksit Bharat–Swarna Andhra Pradesh, has publicly acknowledged that a recent study tour to Uttarakhand proved to be exceptionally enlightening. He stressed the critical need for establishing a well-organized, outcome-focused monitoring system to effectively track welfare and development initiatives across states.

Focus on Central Schemes and Institutional Review

Addressing the media in Dehradun on Tuesday, Dinakar detailed that the visit was meticulously designed to examine centrally sponsored schemes, flagship programmes of the Union government, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) framework, and the operational efficiency of key institutions within Uttarakhand. He extended his sincere appreciation to Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, vice chairman of the 20-Point Programme implementation Jyothi Prasad Gairola, and officials from the state planning department for their invaluable guidance and collaborative support throughout the tour.

Collaborative Efforts Towards Viksit Bharat Vision

Dinakar observed that both Andhra Pradesh and Uttarakhand, operating under their respective double-engine governments, are demonstrating unwavering dedication to realizing the vision of Viksit Bharat as championed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. Extensive deliberations were conducted regarding the execution of major Union government schemes, including Lakhpati Didi, various tourism initiatives, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Jal Jeevan Mission, AMRUT, Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, the aspirational districts and blocks programme, and schemes under the National Health Mission.

Review of Uttarakhand's Flagship Programmes

The chairman also reviewed Uttarakhand's own flagship programmes, particularly those targeting inclusive growth, social welfare, livelihood generation through horticulture and tourism, healthcare, education, and infrastructure development in hill regions. A paramount emphasis was placed on ensuring last-mile delivery of these initiatives to benefit all citizens. He highlighted the Uttarakhand Vision–2047, which is strategically aligned with the 17 SDGs and focuses on enhancing livelihoods, promoting tourism, empowering youth and women, strengthening health and education sectors, and capitalizing on opportunities in horticulture and food-processing manufacturing to attract investment and generate employment.

Key Best Practices and Future Adoption

Dinakar identified the integration of SDGs with the Twenty-Point Programme and the systematic review of indicators at state, district, and block levels as pivotal best practices observed in Uttarakhand. "In alignment with Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu's vision for Swarna Andhra Pradesh, adopting a similar monitoring and review mechanism will significantly bolster good governance, transparency, and people-centric development," Dinakar asserted. He further elaborated on the Swarna Andhra Vision–2047, which aims to achieve a sustained 15 per cent growth rate and transform the state into a USD 2.40 trillion GSDP economy, fully synchronized with the overarching goal of Viksit Bharat.
