Demonstrating practical commitment to his words, Minister Vij announced financial assistance of Rs 31 lakh from his discretionary fund specifically allocated for the welfare activities of the Media Well Being Association and working journalists. Comprehensive Welfare Initiatives
Reiterating the Haryana government's dedication to journalist welfare, Vij outlined several concrete measures already implemented. These include a monthly pension of Rs 15,000 for eligible journalists, provision of 4,000 kilometers of free bus travel for accredited media professionals, and assistance through various accident insurance schemes.
The minister also expressed support for establishing a dedicated budget allocation specifically for journalist welfare programs, indicating a structured approach to supporting media professionals in the state.
