Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national general secretary Tarun Chugh on Sunday launched a 'Chai Pe Charcha' (discussion over tea) event in Amritsar, targeting the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. Chugh asserted that after West Bengal, Punjab will witness a political change, with the BJP gaining ground.
Chai Pe Charcha Initiative
The event, held at a local tea stall, saw Chugh interacting with party workers and local residents. He emphasized that the 'Chai Pe Charcha' initiative is aimed at connecting with the masses at the grassroots level. "This is not just a tea party but a platform to discuss the failures of the Mann government and the way forward for Punjab," Chugh said.
Targeting the Mann Government
Chugh launched a scathing attack on the AAP dispensation, accusing it of failing on all fronts. He alleged that the Mann government has not fulfilled its promises, including the provision of 300 units of free electricity, job creation, and tackling the drug menace. "The people of Punjab are disillusioned with the AAP government. They are now looking towards the BJP for a better future," he added.
Political Change in Punjab
Drawing parallels with West Bengal, where the BJP has emerged as a strong opposition, Chugh predicted a similar shift in Punjab. "After Bengal, Punjab will change. The BJP is committed to the development of Punjab and will expose the failures of the Mann government," he stated. He also highlighted the BJP's recent electoral successes in other states as a sign of the party's growing acceptance.
Party Workers' Enthusiasm
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from BJP workers and local supporters. Many expressed their frustration with the AAP government's performance and voiced support for the BJP. "We believe that only the BJP can bring real change and development to Punjab," said a party worker.
Future Plans
Chugh announced that similar 'Chai Pe Charcha' events would be organized across Punjab to reach out to voters and discuss key issues. He urged party workers to intensify their efforts at the booth level to strengthen the party's presence. "We will take the message of the BJP to every household in Punjab," he concluded.
