The Aam Aadmi Party is gearing up for a significant statewide protest in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday. Party members will gather at all district headquarters to voice their opposition against the BJP-led state government. This protest comes at a time when party MP and UP in-charge Sanjay Singh faces legal trouble.
FIR Filed Against Sanjay Singh Over AI Videos
An FIR has been registered against Sanjay Singh. He stands accused of sharing artificial intelligence generated videos. These videos allegedly depict the destruction at Varanasi's famous Manikarnika Ghat. The controversy has added fuel to the ongoing political fire in the state.
Protest Targets Redevelopment Project
The protest has been called specifically against a redevelopment project at Manikarnika Ghat. During the implementation of this project, serious allegations have emerged. Local reports claim that temples and idols were broken down during the work. AAP members are demanding accountability for this alleged destruction.
Sanjay Singh, who is currently leading a padyatra in the Kashi region, will not participate in Tuesday's protests. However, he has made his position clear regarding the FIR against him.
Singh Defends His Actions
"The government has filed an FIR against me for posting videos showing the destruction at Manikarnika Ghat," Singh stated. "But the locals who actually shot those videos have come forward and confirmed that they took them."
He further emphasized his demand: "We now demand that FIRs be filed against all those responsible for the destruction of the ghat."
The party appears determined to proceed with their planned demonstrations despite the legal challenges facing their senior leader. This protest marks another chapter in the ongoing political tensions between AAP and the ruling BJP in Uttar Pradesh.
