Shock Grips Yavatmal Village as Missing Girl's Body Found in Sack
Yavatmal: A wave of shock and outrage has swept through Both village in Darwha taluka of Yavatmal district after the body of a seven-year-old girl, who had been missing since Friday, was discovered stuffed in a sack at a neighbor's residence. Police have swiftly taken action, arresting four individuals and rounding up a minor girl in connection with the horrific incident.
Disappearance and Intensive Search Operation
According to police sources, the victim, identified as Shivani Pankaj Jadhav, left her home on Friday morning but failed to return by afternoon. Concerned family members initiated a search and later filed a formal missing person complaint at the Darwha police station when she could not be located. The police promptly registered a case against unknown persons and launched an extensive search operation across Both village and its surrounding areas.
Villagers actively participated in the efforts, which continued late into the night. The operation resumed on Saturday morning with enhanced resources, including a dog squad and a forensic team. Despite thorough inquiries, no immediate leads emerged, leading investigators to suspect that Shivani might still be within the village premises.
Discovery of the Body and Arrests
The local crime branch joined the investigation, focusing on the neighborhood. Police noticed suspicious activity at a nearby house, where residents attempted to interfere with the investigation and avoided inspection of sacks stored inside. Upon closer examination, officers found Shivani's body concealed in one of the sacks. A case of murder was immediately registered, resulting in the arrest of the accused: Kailas Vilas Jadhav, Sonu Vilas Jadhav, Mala Vilas Jadhav, and Ranjana Sonu Jadhav.
Motive and Ongoing Investigation
LCB PI Satish Chowrey revealed that Shivani's family and the accused had been involved in a dispute over unspecified reasons a few days prior to the incident. "As per the family, Shivani was wearing a gold nose ring when she left the house, but the ornament was found missing on her body," stated Chowrey. Station house officer Shivshankar Mule is leading the investigation to determine the exact motive behind this tragic crime, with further details expected as the probe continues.
