Unidentified Woman Found Murdered in Farrukhabad District
In a tragic incident, an unidentified young woman was discovered murdered with a sharp weapon in Farrukhabad district late on Friday night. Her body was recovered from a roadside ditch near the Kali Nadi bridge on Chhiramau road, under the jurisdiction of Jahanganj police limits.
Discovery and Police Response
According to police reports, the incident came to light after passing bikers informed Prem Chaturvedi, a resident of Udhranpur in Kannauj district, about a body lying near the bridge. Acting swiftly on this information, Sainmir outpost in-charge Ramjit Tiwari reached the spot with police personnel and promptly alerted Jahanganj police, as the area fell under their jurisdiction.
Subsequently, sub-inspectors Rambabu, Brajesh, and Kanhaiya Lal from Jahanganj police station arrived at the scene. The victim was dressed in a T-shirt and lower, and had sustained severe injuries, with her clothes soaked in blood from head to abdomen, indicating a violent attack.
Forensic Investigation and Evidence Collection
Police immediately cordoned off the area to preserve the crime scene and called in a forensic team to collect crucial evidence. The body was found in bushes nearly 15 feet below the road near the bridge, suggesting it might have been dumped there. Chhiramau Inspector Kapil Dubey also visited the spot to oversee the investigation efforts.
Station House Officer Poonam Awasthi stated that the identity of the deceased could not be established until late at night. Efforts are currently underway to identify the woman and ascertain the circumstances surrounding her murder. Police are reviewing missing person reports and conducting local inquiries to gather more information.
This case has drawn attention to safety concerns in the region, with authorities urging the public to come forward with any relevant details that could assist in the investigation.
