A tragic incident in Lucknow has left a village in mourning after a young woman allegedly took her own life following her boyfriend's refusal to marry her. The 24-year-old woman's body was discovered hanging from a tree in a field, sending shockwaves through the local community.
Body Found Hanging in Bardah Village Field
Early on Sunday, passers-by made a grim discovery near Akbali Kuti on the outskirts of Bardah village. They spotted a body hanging from a tree and immediately alerted both villagers and the police. A team from the Bardah police station swiftly arrived at the location. After preliminary investigations, they were able to identify the deceased.
Family Alleges Emotional Distress Led to Tragedy
The heartbroken mother of the victim stated that her daughter was under severe emotional distress. The cause was the man she was in a relationship with, who had refused to go through with their marriage. "We approached the boy's family for marriage, but he declined," the mother recounted. She further explained that the family had filed a formal complaint, which led to the boyfriend being sent to jail on January 6. "My daughter could not bear it," she added, pointing to the immense emotional turmoil her daughter endured.
Police Investigation and Legal Action Underway
Police officials confirmed that forensic teams were summoned to the scene to collect crucial evidence. The body was sent for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death. Station House Officer (SHO) of Bardah, Rajeev Singh, verified that an FIR was registered against the woman's boyfriend based on the complaint by her family. This legal action resulted in his incarceration last week. Police have stated that further proceedings will depend on the findings of the autopsy report and statements gathered from family members and witnesses.
The victim's father, who works as a labourer in Chandigarh, is now faced with this immense personal loss. The community in Bardah is grappling with grief and shock over the untimely death of the young woman, highlighting the devastating consequences of emotional distress and failed relationships.
