Tragic Wedding Gunfire Kills 15-Year-Old Band Member in Madhya Pradesh
A joyous wedding celebration in Madhya Pradesh's Sagar district turned into a scene of horror and tragedy late Thursday night when celebratory gunfire claimed the life of a 15-year-old boy. The incident occurred near Gola Kuan under the jurisdiction of Moti Nagar Police Station, casting a pall over what was meant to be a festive occasion.
Fatal Shot During Procession
The wedding procession was moving from Gola Kuan towards a marriage garden, with a hired band leading the celebrations amid lively music and dancing. The deceased, identified as Vivek Bansal, was a member of this wedding band. Suddenly, a man in the crowd allegedly fired a pistol. The bullet struck Vivek directly in the chest, causing him to collapse on the spot instantly.
Panic and chaos erupted immediately following the gunshot. Bystanders, reacting swiftly, managed to catch the suspect and handed him over to the police authorities who arrived at the scene. In a significant development, police also seized drone cameras that were recording the entire procession, which may provide crucial evidence for the investigation.
Medical Response and Family Tragedy
Vivek was rushed to a nearby private hospital in critical condition. Given the severity of his injuries, he was later referred to Bundelkhand Medical College for advanced medical care. Tragically, doctors at the medical college declared him dead upon arrival. The young victim was the only son of his family and contributed financially to his household by working as a band performer. His untimely death has left his family devastated. The protest subsided only after police assured them of strict action against the accused.
